Description
He wears a very decorated maxtlatl and tilmatli as well as bells on his sandals and bracelets. He’s quite decorated and would have a gold piercing on his tongue as well.
Merchants were quite rich and held a lot of power, they even had their own courts. This resulted in them having a lot of privileges. They were permitted to wear fine cloth, gold, and throw lavish parties. They also could be used in military situations. Of course, the emperor began to see that they began to get haughty with all of these privileges, so he forbade them to wear gold and fine fabrics in public. They would sneak out at night in their finery instead. He also made a rule that if a merchant were to throw a lavish feast or party everyone would have to mock him and tell him that he stole all of his goods and treat him badly. He would have to accept this in humble tears. He would also have to carry some of the guests home.
