Aztec Hip Cloth

Description

Here is the first one of the Mesoamerican Clothing Project! Somehow the edges of this one became pixelated? I can't fix it so oh well. But here is an Aztec warrior wearing a simple hip cloth. The hip cloth can indicate the status of the wearer by the type/quality of the fabric and colours that are on it. It was folded into a triangle, tied on the right side, and worn over the maxtlatl, which can be seen sticking out from the bottom. It seems to have been an all purpose garment. From his hair (this style is called temillotl, column of stone in English) it signifies that he has caught 4 enemy soldiers. This means he is in a rank called tequihua. He wears no shoes.
